In the 60s & 70s the Leather District was full of menswear themed cruising clubs where public sex and kink was linked to the working class clothes your dads, uncles, and brothers wore: like workwear, western wear and military uniforms.
The Stud opened in 1966 as a cowboy themed leather and denim cruising club.
